Uday and I *think* we are on to something as far as the white screen problems go, but we have no way of knowing for sure because neither of us has ever seen this condition on any of our PCs. I have created a new version (3.9.7) that will tell us if we are right or not about our theory.

If you have never seen the white screen problem, there is not much reason for you to try 3.9.7 - you might as well stick with 3.9.6 (which is the only recent test version that is known to be stable - except for the white screens of course).

If you have suffered from white screens, I can pretty much guarantee that the problems won't be any worse than they have been in previous versions so you don't have much to lose by trying. I am cautiously optimtic that 3.9.7 will mean the end of the white screens, but it is hard to be too confident given that I have never been seen a PC running BBO in the white screen state.

Sorry about all of the new versions, but we really want the next version of BBO to set new standards in terms of stability and performance. It is all but impossible to achieve these objectives without the help of our members.

If you do see white screens with 3.9.7 please post here or send me an e-mail (fred@bridgebase.com). If you don't see any white screens for a day or so and if that is unusual for you, please let us know about that as well.

Even if 3.9.7 produces white screens we are certain to learn something very important in the process.

A lot of people have been really helpful in supplying us with useful information about this problem. Thanks!

Instructions for upgrading to 3.9.7 follow:

IMPORTANT!!! You must exit the BBO program COMPLETELY before you begin the update process!

You can upgrade your BBO to the latest version:

or download everything (including the latest files) from scratch:
