Your bid is 3, single-suited hand with three spades and 16-17 points. Now 3 is a relay for heart length, with 3NT showing 35(32) and four level bids are cues with 36xx.

In the collection file it does not explicitly state that this bid (along with the other three-level responses) show three spades, but this should be inferred.

Do you not just show support immediately with 2 and then 2N from pard relays? I thought the jump to 3 denied holding 3 spades. Doesn't that make more sense?

Perhaps this is just a different Gazzilli to the one I am (vaguely) familiar with.

After this start, 2OM is typically a 3 card suit with 16+HCP. So here it would go:
1-1 (5+ ; 4+)
2-2 (16+ any or <16 seminat ; 8+ any)
2-3 (16+ with 3 card ; fit start cuebidding)
3NT-4 (frivolous ; ok)

Depends on how good responder finds his hand. He'll start with 3 after which South will show a minimum hand and North will probably signoff without cuebidding. He could start cuebids, but with a balanced hand opposite a minimum hand which isn't really interested in slam I think the best is to just signoff.

This is one of the strengths of Gazzilli: finding 5-3 fits in the OM. Similar 1-1NT-2-2-2 typically shows 3. These are much harder to bid without Gazzilli (especially when opener has a 6 card M).

I use the word "typically" because that the basic version (see my blog). I prefer to use 2OM as an in between bid to show various other hands (3OM including ofcourse).

Correction Paul, that's the commonly known Gazzilli, yours is the different one :P

I thought that is what I said but I can see that it was unclear. The Lauria version is quite different and does impact more of the system that just the two clubs rebid.
