Hi,

I was wondering if this forum could be named something different than Non-Natural System Discussion.
Now there is a break up between "SAYC and 2/1" and Non-Natural.
However there are many natural systems that are almost but not completely unlike SAYC and 2/1. They seem to lack a board of their own. My proposed name is "Bidding System Discussion".

So basically this is an inquiry to find a better name for this forum, so feel free to suggest one.

In theory, you're right, since it is difficult to argue that SAYC and 2/1 are more natural than Shenken, Precision, Acol and Viena, unless one is assuming a North-American context and defining "natural" as "common".

However, it is not causing much confusion and Precision players do not seemed to take offense of the fact that their system is labelled as "non-natural". And for some reasons there are very few Acol-players on BBO.

I think the current name is quite appropriate. If you want to change, change the sayc and 2/1 board to natural system. Acol apparently belongs to there.:)

Acol is more "natural" because every 1-level suit opening bid promises at least 4 cards in that suit. The only artificial opening bid in standard Acol is 2.

I disagree, Vienna is the most natural system since there is only one 1-level opening in a suit that could be a surrogate for notrumps.

Lol, you're probably right, Earl. Anyway, I think Acol-specific issues should take place in the General Bridge Discussion forum. Otherwise things will become confusing.
