JEC33 board14 should we really come in at the 4 level?

This was the auction at the other table at our table we let the opps have a free run 1 2 4,
obviosuly my partner can't come in after 4 but if you did get a chance to bid 4, would you?

Just overcall 2C. Anyways, no I do not think passing and bidding 4C is a good sequence, if I bid with south it would be double over 3H.

South was JEC, who plays strong initial actions, so if he gets in on this hand at all it's on the second time around. I agree that that should get you in trouble.

Maybe 4 club does show 4 spades on the side, because he did not bid clubs at his first opportunity?

I had bid 3 first round.
