No, 1N rebid is much different from without RHO's overcall. With 15-17balanced, you would open 1N, with 18-19 you rebid 2N, or 3N. You may want to upgrade ur hand after RHO's overcall.

I would double, first i think most play support even if didnt talk about it, second i dont think its such a bad bid even when playing t.o (and its is ok also if playing penalty)
About the Nt ranges mentioned
Although it might be tempting to bid 1nt with 12 hcp and AJx in spade, i think this bid should show more and this hand could be its upper range(although maybe its just too good)
I dont really understand why the double is so out of the questions for those who doesnt play support double, i will bid 2h/3h over 2d/3d and dont think the damage is so big.

Here I will assume we are NOT playing support double, otherwise it seems pretty straightforward to double.

It should be defined whether opener's double is primarily a takeout or primarily a mild penalty suggestion.

I believe Opener's double shows extras with no clear rebid, with tolerance for pard's eventual penalty pass.

If we assume that 1NT rebid shows just a fair hand, either balanced or with shortness in pard's suit (say a decent 14 to a crappy 16) with serious stopper, then 1NT here is a clear underbid.

I'll double, but I'm really hoping partner pulls. If partner does sit it out, maybe he's got 3 spades and 4 hearts (crossing fingers). It isn't so bad to start with double no matter what partner thinks I have. I don't like 1nt

4 loser hand. Too good for 3H. Not enough hearts for splinter. Double here is good hand with spades playing standard but should show doubleton heart. NT is out due to singleton. 2S implies a game forcing raise of hearts and maybe I can follow up with 3NT later to give partner the idea that I don't have 4H.

So my plan is to bid 2S now and bid 3N later if given the chance. At least if it is a 4/3 fit and we play 4 hearts, they can't tap the long hand right away in spades and the short trump hand can tackle the diamonds.
