Hard for me to imagine north passing. Either it's a 3C preempt or a 10-15 2C bid in most these systems.

Over 3C, I play 3D asking for 3CM, and finding none, we will subside.

If North stretches to 2C (6 clubs no 4CM, in Unassuming or Malfoir):
2C-2D(transfer)
2H-2S (tolerance not enthusiasm / natural F)
2NT-4NT (natural, D stop / quant) is possible, but so is South getting excited and plowing on to 6C.

Under your conditions of no preempt from North, this is an easy hand.

P
... - 1 = 15+ nat/bal or 18+ any
1 = no 4+ major, GF
... - 1NT = relay, usually 18+
2 = 6+ clubs, no side suit
... - 2 = relay
3 = 6-7 clubs, <3 hearts, <3 spades, 3 diamonds
... - 3 = asks for diamond stop
3NT

Note that if North had, say, the A instead of the A, 3NT would not be the final contract.

I made a serious mistake in my auction. After 3, North should bid 3 to show a diamond stop and no spade stop. Then South bids 3NT. North is allowed to bid 3NT with a positional diamond stop (and no spade stop) when NT has not been bid but here, with A43 and 62, it is a complete no-brainer to bid 3 and 3NT is simply a bad bid. Bad enough for me to be completely embarassed about writing it. Anyway, it makes no difference to the final contract on this hand but it goes to show that I need to pay more attention even on the apparently easy hands.

3nt S (tosr based system)

P-1 : <10; art forcing 16+
2-2 : art, gf, 8+ hcp, 2+ ctls, 5+ in single suited hand; relay
3-3 : some 6322 shape (or occasionally 8311); relay
3-3nt : 2=2=3=6; to play

Partner considered opening both 2 or 3 but wisely passed. I find 2 is a wide enough range at 10-15, I don't know we want to do it with even a pure good 9 like this. I like it better as average 10 to average 15 and downgrade the bad 10 and upgrade the good 15.

2nt 3nt.

Having read what others wrote I went back to norths hand which I had simply entered pass for. Having run the sim he opens

Comedy Club

1H--1S (nat, rel)
2NT--3NT (4522 SJS, soff)
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Could you add my result - 3NT(S) - to the outcomes list please straube. I notice that on both this hand and the last there are several missing (IMPrecision is missing on Hand 8 for example).

Pass 2000 (north opens):

2C - 2D*; (2C shows 8-11 hcp, 5+ clubs unbal without 4+ major, 2D is GF relay)
2NT - 3C*; (2NT shows single-suiter with spade shortness (may be 6322 with 2 spades, 3C Relay)
3D - 3H; (3D equal shortness, 3H relay)
3S - 3NT; (2-2-3-6, 3NT to play)

I must say that I'd rather bid 2H over 2C, to see if north has 3 card support for hearts. We've however changed this from INV+ (forcing) to INV (non-forcing) since we play a GF relay. 3NT might not be wise either since diamonds may be troublesome. On the other hand diamonds would be troublesome in 5C too. 4H may be playable if partner has a honour to help my suit.

Playing a version of SCAMP, a Moscito variant:
P I would pass with an A on the side; partner would open 3C
. 1C 16+
2S 8+, 0-2S, 6+C
. 2N relay
3C 2-2-3-6 or 2-3-2-6
. 3D relay (3-level breaks NAT, initially for a choice between that suit and 3N, but not appropriate here)
3H 2-2-3-6
. 3N N's pass suggests a hand unsuited to a 3C opening, so usually a weaker C suit, and not strong enough to open 2C (10-15). But 3N seems best: give N the SJ and HJ and a D stopper and we might not need C as a source of tricks.

This would be much harder if N were not a PH as a 3S relay takes us past 3N when teller has 6 or more QP (3N=5, 4C=6 etc). 3N would risk playing there opposite hands as good as xx xx AKx KQJxxx as teller needs 9QP to resurrect over 3N. Opposite an UPH I think asker would bid 4D, which asks teller to bid 4H with a min and, with better then min (so 7+QP here), to bid his cheapest suit where he doesn't have a good suit (Hx, HHx/HJx[xxx]). Now we'd play 4H.

Molybdenum Forcing Pass System:
North has to open with this system, as pass shows opening count.
N ---- S
3 --- 3 (weak, forcing)
3NT --- P (signoff)

It's pretty self explanatory. :)
Got any questions about this, Zelandakh? B-)

Of course, if you FORCE North to pass... and cooperate with the system...

N --- S
P --- 1 (opening count?! --- GF anything)
2 --- 2 (natural bids)
3 --- 3 (natural bids)
3NT --- 6NT!! (diamond stopper, cowboy blast opposite supposed opener)
Except for 6NT, not bad
Become yourself.

None whatsoever. But I do have a suggestion. There have been quite a few threads recently discussing the use of an artificial 3 response to a 3 preempt. One example is here. It is not a high priority in system design imo, indeed I even suggested the simpler way in the linked thread, but when you are going to so much trouble with system design then you may as well incorporate this too if you find the idea a good one.

So, for example, if you play the version which asks Opener to bid the cheapest major where they do not hold a 3 card fragment, then you have the auction: 3 - 3; 3 - 3NT instead. This not only helps with right-siding 3NT, it also allows Responder to differentiate between 5 and 6 card major advances as well as providing a slam try in clubs.

Unnamed Homebrew Diamond:
N may decide to open 1 (nebulous), in which case:
1-1 10-15, no 5cM, unbalanced/any 15+, establishes a GF
2-2 Natural, minimum, denies a 4cM/5+cards, natural
3-3 Still minimum, waiting/showing a stop
3NT To play

If N is feeling frisky, he has a 9-11 NT available:
1N-2 9-11 "balanced"/transfer to
2-3 No 4-card support/second suit, GF
3NT To play

If N passes:
P-1 16+, non-GF
1-2 8+ almost any/single-suited OR both majors OR short
2N-3N Suggestion of NT/to play

So any way around, we play 3NT by N.

I do not understand this auction. Why is the A not an ace and how does South know to find a diamond stopper opposite? Any reason North could not be 2326?

3 Controls = A + K or 3Ks. The diamonds can not be solid (3NT response initially), thus responder has an A or K outside diamonds. It could be the A and then 3NT is down, or it could be the A and 3NT makes, however, slam appears to be very low probability. Sometimes you just have to guess.
