2C then 2N looks good. What is the 2N opening range?

Actually 2N opening shows the minors.

2 is modified mexi, showing 20-21 balanced.

My answer is not there. I open 2 multi, then rebid cheapest notrump to show 23-24. I have upgraded this hand to 23. Not playing this, I open 2 and the then rebid 2NT showing 22-24.

I'd open 1, planning to reverse into Hearts and then rebid in NT
Don't expect this to be popular, however, I HATE opening 2 with 2 suited hands

1D, agree with Richard.

It's definitely good enough for 2C, but after
2C-2D-3D, how do you find a heart fit?

True, however, I'm not expecting the hand to get passed out. If it does, I need to pay out.

As I noted earlier, shwoing a two suited hand after a 2 opening is ugly
Showing hand with rpimary Diamonds makes life especially ugly

imo the biggest drawback of opening 1D is that you will never be able to show your strength. Opening 2C and rebidding 2NT shows what you have... a balanced hand with 22-24 HCP.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I open 1D, mostly because I have all primary honors and the texture suggest this is a SUIT oriented hand, and not really a NT oriented hand, with all thoose AKs + supported Qs and no slow tricks in terms of intermediates.

Open 2C and 2NT rebid, and we'll lose many laydown slams (or many 5D games when 3N goes down).

Open 1D and we'll lose only when pard passes, but as someone said, in that case we are likely not to have 3NT.

With the right gadgets (Ingberman or Multi-reverse), opener may be able to describe the strength of the hand even without resorting to the 2C opener.

I opened this 1 and got to a painless 6N opposite xx, x, KJ98, KQJTxx when pard upgraded this to a 2/1.

I think the 2 openers have it wrong. Its going to be difficult if not impossible to get your suits in quickly enough and let pard be captain.

Bidding whatever is your 22 balanced. 2C then 2N is common. The hand is too balanced to open 1D. Too easily passed out when game is available.

Club game.

I have a gadget here so I open 2C because we can show our 4 card hearts first then longer diamonds over a positive response of 2D. Otherwise, I rate it as close to open 1D or 2C. 1D is best for slam bidding and some game bidding area, you may sometimes reach otherwise unbiddable slams if you open 1D and you may sometimes find excellent 5D or 4H when 3NT goes down, but you also may be passed out by partner, also you have a hard time to rebid if partner bids 1H. 2C then 2NT is best for gamebidding.
