New suit isn't forcing? And you don't show preference for 3-card support over 2?

How'd I get stuck in 2♦?
I think its fairly standard for 2♦ to be non-forcing on that auction.
Its certainly playable that a minor is canape as responder will reasonably often have 4 spades and 5+ minor and weak.

dunno how to play 4 card majors - JLOGIC
True but I know Standard American and what better reason could I have for playing Precision? - Hideous Hog

I think you need to jump to 3♦ here in GIB's system, if memory serves it shows a 5-5 invite.

If 2♦ is non-forcing, then it should have an upper limit, instead of being described as 8+.
None of the human Souths in this tournament bid 1♠ then 3♦, so I don't have a reference for how it would be described. Hopefully a staff member will let us know.

Playing this morning with basic, not advanced, bots:
2♣ is new minor forcing. Why the difference?

When neither minor has been bid, clubs is the forcing enquiry.

But, I didn't want to invite, I wanted to force.
Then start by bidding 2♣
