This hand popped up a day or so ago. You are dealer non vulnerable against vulnerable and pick this:
void KJ1076 K964 AKQ5
Pleased to be first you start with 1H 1S 2H 2S
So now we have some choices how we continue. Now I will give you the responders hand and see if you can wend your way to the best spot,
J1054 A92 Q10853 10
This is a pretty decent 6D and very hard (for me) to find. As we can see if we choose to double 2S we can locate the diamond fit. My fear was partner could pass 2S if I doubled.

I would not DBL, but bid 3♣
The bidding might go
1♥(1♠)2♥ (2♠)
3♣--3♦
4♠--6♦

As opener I'd bid 3♠, not as a slam-try but just to say that I was bidding 4♥ to make. After that, responder might bid 4♦ and opener might reevaluate. Or they might not.
It's not a great slam anyway, is it?

... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
