What now?

I think my auction would have started 1 2* 2 3 and now partner would be obliged to cue.

Definitely prefer that responder shows spades on the second round rather than bidding 3

I would probably just punt 6N and apologize if the grand comes home

Definitely like the bidding you propose if 2 is Natural or balanced GF.
Agree that 3 not 3 is better IFF 2 promised 6. If it didn't then 3 endplays partner into 3N (I assume here partner will rebid 3 on 5=4 regardless of strength).
So, now I can trot out Gerber if partner will understand 4 here as that convention. The only likely error will be taking this as a control bid - which is OK too. (Silly here that regardless how partner interprets the 4 bid, we will move on partner's 4 call toward the grand slam, while retire in 6N on any other call).
We will steer toward 6N unless we can identify 13 tricks. We need to find the KQ, the K, and the A for 13.
Be the partner you want to play with.
Trust demands integrity, balance and collaboration.

Is partner's 3NT denying 6 spades? Anyway 6NT looks to be the contract and that's what I'd bid.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Partner held KQ9654 A9 Q65 Q8, 6N is the top spot. Both 7S & 7N make, with the 3-3 diamond fit.

Do you have the hands right? There are 13 on top if spades are not 5-0

Hi,

I am not going to ask, if 2S showes a 6 carder, because the agreement would be nice to have,
but I am assuming, it does not.

Instead of 3H, it would have been better to bid 3C, partner does not have 4 hearts, but may
have 4 diamonds, depening on the meaning of an immediate 3D raise (does the raise show add. values
or not).

As it is, bid 6NT, 7 NT is out, partner showed a min. opener with semibal. shape, so you will have
at most 35 HCPs between you.

With kind regards

Why did he bid 3NT instead of 3S?

Did we promise a club stopper? Responders bidding indicates 54 shape in the reds,
and they will lead clubs, the unbid suit.

ASSUMING 2/1 auction

if the 2s bid shows 6+ I will immediately go to rkc
and if we have the heart A and spade KQ bid 7s
(IMPS because it may go down less when it fails)
(7N at MP/BAM).

If the 2s bid is 5+ I will bid 2n (MIKE777) (not 3h)
because I want to give my p the chance to show me
distribution (ie 3s to show 6+ and then 4n rkc same
as before).
