I would not have passed 1♠ if i opened this.
Now pd thinks we have 3 spades, and expressing some strength by bidding one of their suit.
I would bid 2♥ now, he can always bid 2♠ himself when he has 5 of them, after all he saw i passed 1 ♠, or he can leave it to 2♥ with 2 cards ♥ and 4♠ or with 3 card hearts or whatever he has, idk man.

I would not have passed 1♠ either but since I did I think pard would have just bid 2 of them with 5. With only 4 spades, no 2♥ bid and no pass I'm playing them for 5+ diamonds and passing.

You can't pass 1♠, and even opening this hand is questionable.
Stuck here, I would bid 2♥ in case we have a 5-2 heart fit versus a 4-2 spade fit (I want to cater to 4243 and 4252). If partner is 4153 I need to pass, but that's tough.

I have no problem passing 1♠. Now pass, partner could easily have 5♦4♠.

I agree. Passing 1♠ limits your hand.
In this case partner should have at least 5 diamonds and 4 spades. His spades should never be longer than his diamonds.
MAFIA style is certainly indicated, when you are a passed hand and your bids are not forcing.

What Phil and Timo said. Am I alone in disliking bidding problems of the "You cocked up, now how do you rescue yourself"-type?

I have no problem with light openings in 3. seat, but if you do so, you better know, what partner is doing. Here, he shows something around 4153 and I pass happily.
I understand your pass of 1 spade, but I do not like it. I had bid 1 NT, that had limited the hand too and denied 3 spades.

A matter of style.
The Lawrence style is that a 1NT rebid guarantees a full opener. You are limited, but to significantly more than you have.
Since when does a 1NT rebid deny 3 spades?

Yes Rainer, matter of style,
but you are right, 1 NT does not deny 3 spades, I meant (but did not write) that pass for me gurantees 3+ spades and 1 NT quite often has less.
Thanks for pointing this out.
