Imp pairs, two similar (?) situations:

Red vs White:
♠xx
♥Qx
♦Qxx
♣ATxxxx

Pa-(Pa)-1♥-(2♠)
Pa-(Pa)-3♥-(Pa)
???

Do you pass or get to 4?

All Red:
♠K5xx
♥Qx
♦9xx
♣A7xx

Pa-(Pa)-1♥-(3♦)
Pa-(Pa)-3♥-(Pa)
???

Would you double 3♦? Do you pass or get to 4?

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the ♥3.

Besides playing for fun, most people also like to play bridge to win

I would not make a slam try on the first one.

Same for me, MP's might change things for me a bit as 170 could be a good result. I'll bid 4 on the second regardless.

If you double 3D on the second one (not too unreasonable) can you really bid 4H? Surely the 3H is just a minimum reply.

If you double and partner bids just 3 ♥, I would pass.
If I did not double and partner bids 3 ♥, I would not pass.
Kind Regards

Pass on the first. I have the worst spade holding imaginable, and my one asset in clubs is no more than partner expects.
Double on the second. Having passed, 4♥ is easy. A useful hand.
