What was 2m?

If it was 6-9, 3m is probably best played as a preemptive bid (to keep opps from balancing). However, I think without discussion many people would take it as ~17 hcp, invitational to 5m/3NT.

If it was 10+, 3m could be many things, in vanilla standard I think it's NF but probably better played as F.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

That's an interesting idea, but how do you make it work?

2m+1 as any minimum for example.

This is the novice forum too,so I would play it as invitational.
I doubt that novices should learn inverted minor, 2m+1 as a minimum and other fancy stuff before they can make a game plan. And if they can make a game plan, they can go to the int/advanced section.

There are many places where everyone plays 2m as 10+, even beginners. That's why I dared to ask. I didn't say beginners should or should not play inv minor.

I see. We play this as unbalanced GF, but in a weak NT context.

When you have so many other forcing bids available why on earth would you play it as forcing?

It takes out a huge amount of bidding space, so whether forcing or non-forcing it should be highly specific if the auction is intended to be constructive, and cannot therefore sensibly embrace all hands that fall within the chosen forcing v non-forcing strength.

If it is intended to be pre-emptive then that is another matter.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).

I think 3m show a low limted hand without any stopper in both majors.

The main question is, what is the meaning of 2m.

If 2m is a single raise, I would play 3m the way I would play 3M.

Regarding your treatment - 3m showing a non forcing hand with stoppers in both suit:
How likely is it, that a 6-9 hand has stoppers in both majors?

If responder is strong enough to accept the invite, 4m will have play, so reponder,
in case he accepts the invite, show a stopper in a major, if he has one.
