An easy slam was missed on this hand. How should N/S have bid this hand?

Or was this hand another victory for the natural Weak 2. Valuable bidding space was consumed?

On the North hand I would start with double. You certainly don't mind if partner passes. Save the cue bid for hands with 5-5 in the majors (or other very shapely hands if you wish to do that). After North doubles and South bids 2, North can splinter with 4. Since South has a maximum 2 bid with nothing in diamonds, they are going to drive to slam after that.

On your actual auction it looks like maybe South should do more if 3 was game forcing. But it's hard because you have consumed two entire levels of bidding just to establish the heart fit.

I agree with both of the above posts. The cuebid took up a lot of room. I play the cue here as asking for a stopper for NT and showing a solid suit somewhere.

Agree with the comments above. I would just add that I think South is worth a 5H bid (asking for diamond control) over 4H anyway.

Agree with the above posts also.

(2)-X-2
2-3
4(kickback in clubs)-

is a good start and trivially easy if you play 1430 as it now goes 4-4N(I have the Q and am interested but need something more)-5-6

Over a weak-2D, Roman-jumps are better.

That way the cue-bid ( 3D here ) is a stop-ask just like (2M) - 3M is in Leaping Michaels.

So, over ( 2D ):
3H!-jump = /
............................ - 4C ( advance cue for one of the Majors as trump )
4NT ( 6 Ace RKC ) - 5D ( 1 key )
6H ( for pass-or-correct ) - pass

Of course north should double first, but even after this random GF cuebid south should move more than he did. He showed nothing.

You do not even need this. The simple 3 = stop ask; 3M = strong jump; 4 = C + M; 4 = majors is just fine for the average player. Whichever system you are playing, starting with double on the North hand appears to be indicated.

Of course there are other methods, but this time this should have been easy. North made a game-forcing cuebid. South has a contextual monster -- two strains that are great, a K-x combination, two KIngs? I would blast 6 rather than 3...Pass.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."
