Hi all!

I try to run tournaments as often as I can.

Unfortunately, there have been some serious problems with the bbo server. My internet connection is ok (not too slow). Although I seem to have problems with bbo almost every time when the number of players exceeds certain amount or when there is a vugraph broadcast. I don't know what's the actual reason.

So i really feel stupid, when I am in the middle of tournament being the only TD and I am losing my connection. I can't do anything and some people can't play because, for example, they are waiting for someone else to be subbed.

Is there a way to secure ma connection somehow, when I am a TD? I guess not. But, this has became serious obstacle for me to run tournaments.
:P

Nothing you can do at your end. Usually, if you get into conn trouble, so will your users

Answer lies up here somewhere. We arent sure what causes these weird behaviours. We have some theories. No proof yet. working on it....

One day everyone will have totally reliable broadband. So you think it will be "safe" then, but no it won't, because I can guarantee you that once that occurs, they will continue to stretch things to their limit. They always do.

I have no idea why these disconnections happen. All I know is that I have broadband here and it is supposed to be wonderful but in actual fact I have had so many disconnections and downtimes in the last 4 months that I would change ISP right now if it weren't for the fact that the best one in the UK (Telewest Blueyonder) does not serve my area.

Uday and Fred are also at the mercy of their ISPs as well as limited budget. Big companies like Bloomberg can afford to have multiple servers etc in case there is downtime at one of them, but BBO doesn't quite have that kind of budget...

I would have had BT Openworld. I signed up for it in June 2000 when it hadn't even started yet, and 4 months later there was still no BT Openworld broadband so I joined Homechoice which was the first one available at the time and I'm still with them.

i am using ADSL in turkey and the main company.turkish telecom office also here is a smal town thats why we can easly call them for help whenever we want.unfortunately broadcost take me in lag when i am hosting tourney this lag is nightmare normal time when playing it is nearly 2 min.all other connections are working normaly.in old versions of BBO were not bad. but at this day we have got a lot of broadcost and these must be more. BBO is carrying verry big position for world bridge i believe this and it is free.
i think in broacost time BBO server is going in lag too.main reason is a lot of connection in same room and this is making flood. first us than BBO server.this problem can solve i trust uday :) he is working hard and fast.
but in broadcost time all tourneys living problem and we need to deciede first broadcost and tourneys position. until main sove both of them will not work to gether i think so . we can stop tourneys. because when we pıt limit to our tourney (20 tbl) other TD s are opening tourneys because players are pressing them for tourney  i leaved this
until main solve we need to deciede something
