If the 4♣ cuebid is supposed to show first-round control, GIB should not be making that bid with the given hand. If it's supposed to show first- or second-round control, the description should be corrected.

I agree with both of you.
Does GIB use Italian cue bidding (ambiguous 1st/2nd round controls)?

Gotta to love that 3♣ bid- totally insane.
lol yeah. He decided it is too risky opening 3♣ vul with his balanced hand and not so good suit. Yet he decides it's OK to walk into a live GF auction, still vul, still not so good suit, and still balanced!

Its supposed to moving to that in the next update according to Barmar. Whether its only ace controls or ace/void controls or any controls is unclear. You mean semi-ambiguous. Most likely this is a cue bid erroneously explained. Why they can't do quality control is beyond me- e.g. post a link on this forum to webpage with lots of automatically produced bidding and we pick out any errors on the beta-version of the new GIB version for fixes.

Fixed for new version (v25). It will pick the ♦A instead of pretending having ♣A
