I would like to understand the syntax of the .lin files

Is there any documentation?
Is there any link that could help?
Is there any sample or tutorial?
Is there any open source program (prefer in C++ ) that read/write .lin files?

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I am sure BBO has something, maybe not a public one. Is there any chance to get this documentation under NDA?
