I suspected that the explanation of 3♥ was wrong due to the lack of an earlier negative double, but I left room for the possibility that GIB has a 5422 10-count and was hoping for a chance to leave in my reopening double.

I don't understand its problem with playing in 2♣. It's not like it's void or anything!
I wouldn't have thought Gib would ever be allowed to bid 3-card suit except maybe after a takeout double at the one-level? Looking forward to the explanation for this one!

It probably simulates you as having a spade void and therefore 4♥ and that playing better than clubs. By blind DD simulation it has got a better place- 2♣ is 2 down and 2♥ is 1 down.
