I will declear.... C to A, S to Q, D to Q, and H hook, and low S from dummy.....EW clears the C, and I play another D from dummy....W has to take it and eventually give dummy another H hook and the 13th Spade...NS will get: 2+4+1+2 EW will get 2+0+1+1

declare: win the club, hook a heart, club off the table. east wins and on a spade return, i win the queen, cash a club (squeezing west while I pitch a diamond), diamond to my hand (forced duck), hook a heart, finish hearts, diamond to west. if west kept a long diamond, i keep diamonds, if west kept a long spade, i keep spades, if west pitched a heart, I laugh and take 9. If east instead ducks a club or returns a non-spade position is easier, I again finish off hearts and cash club jack, this time pitching a spade, and lead diamonds to my hand, eventually west must give me an entry to finish diamonds.

Yes, but your diamond is and now East gets an entry.

NO CREDIT to ducking the 1st club - suggested by several.

good idea, wrong execution. on that line of play, west wins the spade ten, cashes the diamond ace, and spade ace, then club to his partner, who exits a club and endplays dummy to giving the defense the heart queen. if instead you hooked hearts immediately, then led a spade to your 8, i don't see the defense succeeding.

Thanks. Not sure I really have it. If east unblocks the spade Jack under Q they can set up 5th heart as this creates 3rd entry for West.

Why not? Duck the club, win the club continuation, heart finesse, diamond to hand, heart finesse, top hearts throwing a diamond and a spade, diamond. The defence just gets a trick in each suit.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Just that the hand is a lot more interesting without the duck.

Try as I may, I can't get the defense to 5 tricks .
As long as the split 3-3 and Declarer keeps leading them, the 9th trick will be dummy's 4th .

[ (Declarer ) Ducking the opening lead seems like a "compression play" -- compressing 2 tricks into 1 ].
