People leaving during money bridge hands is a huge and common problem. Right now when playing money bridge, if either player leaves then robots finish out the hand and both players are awarded that result (correct?)

I think it's unfair and frustrating that when my opponent leaves I may end up with a minus score and lose money for a hand I didn't even get to play. Maybe the contract was on a queen guess that I have been deprived the opportunity of getting right. Or maybe the hand was too hard for my opponent so he left intentionally knowing the robot could play it better. I think if either player leaves then the robots should finish the hand, and if the player who left would have been minus then everyone can be assigned that result, but if the player who left would have been plus then the result should be thrown out.

It might seem that is harsh on players who are disconnected but I don't think so, and that is much less common than players who leave intentionally. People generally won't play money bridge anyway if their connection is unreliable. I think this would be more fair and go a long way to discouraging players from leaving during the hand.

I hadn't noticed that thread, but it doesn't actually discuss it in much detail, nor does it mention what I suggested which I believe is the obvious solution? Don't punish someone who leaves since it might not be their fault, but just don't allow them to win on the hand.

That solution doesn't seem fair, either. They get disconnected during a claimer, and can't win the board.

Seen a lot of disconnects during claims or game and slams lately?

It seems it would be very easy to compile what the contract was when a person got disc'd, since the robot is stepping in to finish.

That's what happens in online poker, your hand is thrown out.

Anyway there are probably 10x more intentional leaving than disconnected. It happens like every other time I play.

Is it not possible for a robot to replace the disconnected player, but the other player keeps playing? It wouldn't handle the case where the robot plays better than the player who left, but Josh is probably taking those players' money regardless.

I've never played Money Bridge, so I haven't "seen" anything. But I didn't mean that they disc'ed while claiming, but during a hand that's cold.
