penalty pass good pass?

A good pass, or should I bid? I decided to pass due to the vulnerability. If we were vul and they weren't, I would cuebid and then bid 4.

I like pass, risky though as you probably have 4 your way.

I can't see your diagram above in IE9 (but can in Firefox 13).

I would not play for penalty at the one level while slam seems possible. Certainly not at IMPs. At matchpoints, I might consider it.

About the spoiler, opener should probably run from 1x.

Yeah, opener should run.

I would be bidding as slam is possible and a grand opposite a heart void is not out of the question, although tough to bid. Cue, bid spades followed by big black might get you 2 key cards with a void for the response. I'm landing in 5 here.

There is something to be said for the pass ONLY at matchpoints.
