You are playing standard 2/1 with strong nt. You opponents are young people, but generally good and not crazy. Your call?

not sure why we bid 5s......I mean what do we expect partner to do or was 5s exclusion with no alert?

What specifically is 5. Just a huge spade raise? I can't believe it promises a void. Exclusion makes more sense TBH.

Partner's pass just says, "I have the A". I guess I can barely construct an opener without the minor aces. I'm still bidding 7, which is what I might have done on the last round.

No discussion about either 5 or partner's pass of 6.

Double.

I think 5 could be just about any hand that expects to make 6. Maybe partner could bid grand himself with three aces after I do that that. He might be worried somewhat about his bad trumps, but would I bid this strongly off three aces and a high trump?

At the table we bid 7= for +2210, and lost imps since the other table was in 7X=. Partner's hand is 9 JT9xx AQJ9x AJ. The opponents could obviously make at least 7 tricks in their 12 card spades fit, and I think they might have been able to find an 8th.

I would probably bid 7 out of the gate and defend 7 doubled for a larger loss.
