Never pass, 4 is probably enough, I'm not sure whether 2 and a spade raise always shows 4 and hence am hesitatant in knowing exactly what 3 is.

We've shown about 0-8 with the 1 bid, and I reckon we're better than average for that so I'll raise 3 to 4. Shame that our second suit is clubs.

A classic case for SJ Simon's metric, "how much worse could my hand be?"

To me 4 is clear.

Me too.

This hand appeared in today's USBF bulletin along with a comment suggesting that 4S was a difficult decision which I did not understand.
