When you drop in for a few hands, there is no real possibility to choose the level of play. The "find a game" button seats you at a totally random table and the table list refreshes faster than you can check out who the players are.
It would indeed be nice to have some settings for the "find a game" button.

Playing level at tables

So how do you expect the software to figure out the "playing level" at a table?

Some function of the self-ranking of players at that table, presumably.

I agree it would be nice when clicking "find a table" to be sit at a table which somewhat satisfies your expectations, even if it means waiting a few seconds for such a table to empty.
I guess the relevant criteria of selection would be, by order :
1) Whether the pairs are picked-up partnerships or regular partners
2) Equivalent playing levels (with self-description as reference)
3) Country

Tired of red/black ♠♥♦♣.
♠♥♦♣ For 4 suits, why not 4 colors ? ♣♦♥♠

Tell me about how this is supposed to work, I have not been able to determine any correlation between playing levels and self ratings as yet.

People often prefer to play with people who speak the same language. We don't have language in the profile, the closest we have is country.
And if you're from Poland, you're more likely to find other players playing Polish Club if you play with others from Poland.

It would be nice to be able to specify your bidding convention (like SAYC) when using "help me find a game".
I find that I have to drop in and out of several tables before locating a partner who plays the same main convention.
If the "find a game function" allowed one to specify the convention desired in a partner, it would make the site much better.
