at first, 6nt can make.... U must assume DQ is right, then duck the first S, after finesse DQ, finesse CK... then cash D, west will be squeezed in C and H. Secondly, frankly speaking, i bid 4nt after 4s..........

You should just bid 5d or 6d over 4 spade. Partner is showing spade stiff, 5-5 or better in minors. With stiff opposite ace, minor should be safer than 4nt, and slam should have good chances. 5h just confusing GIB, it doesn't anticipate try to play in heart contract. Human partner going to be confused by 5h also. GIB can maybe recover and bid 5nt, but maybe 5nt have some weird meaning. I don't blame that GIB get lost on this auction, you contributed .

I always need diamond right to make. Assuming it is right, I think I essentially played for 3-3 hearts. Your line I need club king right plus either hearts 3-3 or heart length with club length. Not sure what the exact percentage is/optimal line is, but I agree you can make double dummy.

Over 4S it looks like we only have one stopper, so I'll need running tricks. My thinking was that if GIB is interested in a slam, my hand looks suit oriented. With shortness in spades, GIB must either have 3 card heart support, 6 clubs, or 5 diamonds, so we will always have a fit. With no heart fit, I was hoping GIB would bid longer minor. I agree I probably deserve what I get for bidding like this with GIB.

I've come across this auction before. 4NT would be RKC for spades (don't ask....) and 5NT over 5H is grand slam force agreeing H. I agree it's an easy 5D bid though.

I agree I probably deserve what I got, but need GIB be 55 in minors to bid like this? If so, perhaps 4S should indicate as much. I thought maybe 1=3=4=5 was a possibility.

Your first mistake was not opening that hand 1♥, since GIB will always assume you have at least 20 HCP to open 2NT, and you only have 19. So from its point of view, it's a 29+ HCP 6NT which has a decent chance of working, and it didn't know any minors you had 3 cards in and it probably would have shown 6 if it just bid one, and it didn't want to guess wrong and leave you in a 7-card trump fit when it could go to 6NT. You needed to bid ♦ and then the bidding would have ended in ♦.

3-3 is 35,5%, 33 or 24 plus CK right = (35.3+48.5)/2=41.9% . Also i don't why, it seems that with GIB, a superior play has always better chance to make..... BTW, 2nt opening is correct. All GIB players will open 2nt.

Perhaps you can elaborate, but this math seems off. You need need club king on plus either hearts 3-3 or club length in right place.

Opening 2NT has nothing to do with playing with GIB imo. This hand seems worth an upgrade regardless of whether or not partner is sentient. See for instance: http://www.jeff-gold...3+AKQxx+1098+AQ

Since v19 ( last true for v18 ) this was fixed.
Since v19 it means - Stopper -- 2-3 C; 2-3 D; 2-5 H; 2-5 S; 20-21 HCP

After 5♥ there wasn't such reply as 5NT which GIB ( North ) could use. That's why GIB tried to figure out what happens and picked 6NT, although most often bid to pick seems to be 6♦.

It will be investigated for probably continuation after splinter case and player replies.

Splinter after Minor Stayman can't have 4 cards in a major even with shape like 0445 or 1444. It was also adjusted since v19+ ( previous versions allowed 0445 cases but still not 1444). Stayman will come first choice.

So splinter promises 4+5+ in minors, but as can't be aware who is 5th so far, 4+4+ is the explanation, but could be assumed there is at least one 5th minor in GIB.
