I agree, but only if there is a way to minimize up/downloading pictures for dial-up users. I don't want to seem like a broadband snob, but lag already appears to be a problem for many users on BBO.

Anyway, I think it's a nice idea.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy - but it might improve my bridge.

For the last 2 weeks, connections have been a little worse than usual for some users. Our ISP is aware of the problem, thinks it has identified it, and says that it will take care of it but that the fix can't be implemented speedily.

Back to pictures. In my mind, two issues.
Minor: bandwidth, etc
Major: Potential for female customers to be harassed.
Major: Unless we control the images, we might find images none of us want to see on a bridge site.

Smart observation, Uday.

Before any photos, I still have the same request I've had about a year ago. Can we please get a button to remove unwanted kibs?

Thank you,
Jola

I don't think the potential for female customers to be harassed is a problem as the photo would be optional. I'd also take minor offence at your sexism - there is also potential for males to be harassed - it has happened to me at least once during my time on BBO.

It would be a real nice idea to allow space for some private info. Perhaps via a weblink. I think it would add a lot to know something about who you are playing with, and would help BBO become much more friendly.

To comply with the Laws of Bridge, a "remove kibitzer" button should only be able to be activated if the software can detect a breach of Law 76 (such as the kibitzer talking to the table or to any of the players).

Guess IF you don't have a "permission to kib " set at table you COULD be accused of discrimination if you booted ONE kibber and not the others surely??

maybe a "friends kib only button" and ask xx dollars for others :D

Btw seriuosly , i think when we start booting unwanted kibs to the lobby we woud see a lot of fights.problems, imagine u are following a friend who happens to play in a tourney against a enemie and u get booted to the lobby, dont think many will apreciate that

Having space for a photo or avatar, nice idea, button to boot uwanted kibbs not such a good idea, for the reason Mark mentioned.....
How about being able to register in a tourney from the main bridge club, instead of leaving table to do so.... (might have been mentioned before, maybe by me :) )
