Another one from the BBFPairs2 Board 18:

3H-1 or 2 would have been a top, 4D -1 was the top, 5DX -2 a bottom. Thoughts?

Doesn't seem consistent to pass 2 then raise 4 to 5.

Incidentally,

what do people think of my 3NT bid, was it reasonable?

Consistent, no, but it was argued that the auction had changed the value of the hand, and now raising 4 to 5 seemed a reasonable shot. In particular, it seemed that there'd be no heart losers, the spades would be a reasonable source of tricks, and opposite 7 solid diamonds, game is a decent shot.

Partner has no hand where he rebids just 2 and has a heart chicane, good spades and solid diamonds. You need something like AQx,-, AKQxxxx, xxx and a partner who just counts HCPS. Impossible.
