I do not use many conventions, but think I am an intermediate player. What is best approach for joining tournaments.

I recommend finding a club near you and playing in some of their games. This will help you get used to some tournament-like aspects such as player movements, scoring, etc, and also to find partners and/or teammates. Also, the players and organizers will probably have information about finding tournaments, and lots of advice about getting involved. Bridge players love to give advice.

Good luck, I hope you enjoy a long and happy tournament experience!

edit: if you meant BBO tournaments, ignore me ;)

Hi Lizzie, welcome to the forums. Could you maybe give some more details as to whether you're talking about online or F2F tournaments? I'm sure there's lots of good advice that you'll get either way.
