This also looks like another episode of "takeout doubles are for takeout", unless the auction is fictional.

Can you post the actual hand. And where was this played? I don't see it in your myhands history.
I did a bidding test; the book bid for North is 3♥, and most of the time it bids either 3♥ or 3♠, but sometimes sims override it and tell it to pass.

Hello,
I played money bridge, medium level, medium speed.
The first bid was 3D (there was no pass before it)
As for the leaving 3D, this happend alot but i can understand this and its part of bridge.
But as for the play, its just a bug.
I can send you the lin file just give me email.

The movie stops at trick 8. What did it do, play another club instead of cashing the spade to pitch its club?
The way the robot "thinking time" setting works is that it sets a total amount of CPU time that can be used for the entire hand. If it uses it up early in the hand, later plays can be pretty dumb because it doesn't think about them much.

It was probably just happy with all the tricks South threw at it, allowing it to make easily.
It might still make if it guesses trumps right, but why should it on this auction?

Yeah, I was about to accuse you of throwing the tricks (I'm used to playing Robot tourneys, where the human is always South), but then I realized that you were probably West, and somewhat peeved that you didn't get the doubled overtrick as well.

I have seen it when looking at results, always assume its old download version of GIB with weak settings
here are some results from a previous thread if you are interested
http://www.bridgebas...sername=pigpenz
if you look at the 3NT hands down one you will see that GIB Doesnt take his setting tricks
In 1NT GIB throws a good trick and saves a bad one for no reason, so it does happen
