Justin (and maybe others) are going to judge hands played in the BBO League team events to identify a prize for the most brilliant play.

In the first 1/2 of the team 4 versus team 5 match, I don't think there was any such hand worthy of consideration, so I don't have a hand to post now. But surely in the 2nd half or one of the other matches, there will be some hands worthy of consideration. If we could post either the hand (or a link to such a hand) in this thread so the judge(s) has one place to check for the hands being considered that will help one and all. This thread will be pinned until after the BBOL competition is completed and a winner identified.

I looked through the hands of our match and found one hand that my partner, guymath, played very nicely.

Here is a link to the hand.

A few comments on the bidding1NT was 10-12.
2 was game forcing Stayman.
2NT denied a 4 card major but showed a 5 card minor.
3 was natural showing 5+ hearts.
3NT was natural.

I decided that it was more important to show my hearts than to ask what his 5 card minor was. If he had 5 diamonds rather than 5 clubs, my decision might not have worked out so well.

You have to completely ignore the bidding here, since N/S both had a system mishap. But the play is nice, and the end position is cute.

You mean one of them thought it was Reverse Flannery, one of them thought it was WJS, and systematically it was actually SJS?

One thought it was reverse flannery, and one thought it was WJS, I assume. Of course, "reverse" flannery means 54xx, not 45xx...

I don't see what is special about this. If anything, declarer misplayed by not cashing two rounds of spades before ruffing a club.

Then don't vote for it?
