lol.
also weird is that 2C is 4+D, 4+S, 4+C, 3-H.

Is it a basic bot? If you want GIB to stop doing silly things, stop playing with basic bos.
The reason for the weird explanation is that it's just merging what each bid has shown, it doesn't do the math. Each suit that was bid showed 4+, and not raising partner's suit showed 3- there. 3- means he's denied having 4+, it doesn't necessarily mean he can actually have 3 if other bids have ruled it out.

Yes, I'm just saying it looks weird.
And come on, really? Even a basic bot shouldn't be playing the K here. There's gotta be a decision rule in there that made it play the K, and the rule has to be wrong.

Maybe he played a high card to show that he liked the suit. :-)
There is a big difference between a good decision and a good result. Let's keep our posts about good decisions rather than "gotcha" results!

It's hard for me to reproduce what happens in the MBC, since every table uses a different random seed. And basic bots have low priority, so I'm not going to spend any time trying to figure out why it does the silly things it does.

Funny... at all 6 of the tables where South led ♥8 (genoe, jamiegr, calm01, maugansvil, nisse3 and esyor), North played the K under the A; at the tables where South led the ♥5, North played more reasonably. It doesn't appear to have anything to do with the random seeds.

I'm not sure what it is, but I can't reproduce it on my test machine, and I'm not going to spend any more time on it.
