South gets all of it for the 4H bid which doesn't have much to do with the hand he holds or partnership bidding. 3H would have been fine. Then, North would be able to correct to 4D. South bids 5D, or not...but that decision never came.

NS's actions seem normal. 4H is a tad aggressive, but certainly liveable. Bidding isn't an exact science.
