I have to accept the help suit game try in my partnership and doing so with a 3nt bid shows this flavor of hand.

Pard will most often correct but I survive the post mortem.

3

Worst possible hearts, worst possible shape, half my hcp probably not working. If 4 is a favourite opposite this hand, I'd expect partner to have bid it already on most (not all) layouts.

I don't play that a help suit try requires that one bid game anytime one has help in the suit.....I like it to be an information exchange rather than a binary question about the suit.

Partner should, in my view, always play us for one working card for our raise....if he makes a try, he needs more than one working card.

I would bid 1NT the first time, which pretty much shows this hand in one bid. OK, maybe I am heavy one heart spot, but I accept that in the interest of simplicity.

I'm on the fence here between 3 and 3NT, but 3NT is game and by bidding it I should show a clear preference for 3NT rather than 4 so I'll try it.

Another vote for 3NT this time (and for 1NT last time).

I will try 3NT. The best that can be said about it is that it only loses when 3NT fails and 3 would have made.

3. I don't think this hand is nearly as good as others do.

Partner made an overcall so my raising range is about good 7-11 and my limit is about good 11-14 (Im playing stronger limit raise than most) I have a big T of clubs but the shape is bad. So its close between 3H and 3Nt but i slightly prefer 3H. I have no preference for 2H/1Nt i think both are ok.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."
