This can backfire:
♠ AJx
♥ xx
♦ QJxxx
♣ xxx
♠ Kx
♥ Kxxx
♦ AKxxx
♣ xx
LHO had opened 1♥, and I'm playing in 3♦. ♥ were not touched by the defence, but ♣ ended up being cleared (with RHO who did not respond producing the King). It's simple enough to make 3♦, but seeing the opportunity to endplay LHO with ♠Q for a cuter finish, I took it. Trouble is, when I played ♠J from dummy, I was too keen to discard a ♥ that I failed to react to RHO covering with ♠Q

Note the careful play required to reach this ending and the failure to fall into the trap GIB East set at trick 8.

Go through the first 7 tricks to see the ending and notice several important points of technique:
- the farsighted unblock of the Queen of clubs at trick 1
- the careful play of the trump suit
- the importance of rectifying the count at trick 7
- the delicate order in which the cards were played to the last 6 tricks

What's going on with this one? South's hand is high after trick 7.
The best example of this kind of thing I've seen so far is when my LHO held a 4333 hand. Each suit was a run of cards and the hand had one of each rank - something like ♠AKQJ ♥765 ♦1098 ♣432. Pretty lame compared to having the last trick consist of all 9's
Oh, I guess yesterday partner did win a trick with a 5 (everyone following), but I think most people have achieved that.

Note how both humans cooperated with the robot declarer to reach this rare ending.

Note how declarer was careful to rectify the count for the four-7s ending with her loser-on-loser play on the second round of spades.

My partner (unintentionally) got to this 11 card ending - not sure if it counts since she had to lose the final trick (though it would have made it so much better if somehow South had the ♦K for a double whammy but unfortunately the contract would have failed at that point). Thanks to this thread I was able to see and appreciate these kind of endings and mentioned it to the table, however nobody else seemed to be as fond of the ending as I was.

Same theme:
♠ are trumps.
North leads.
NS to make 7 of the last 8 tricks
Same theme but harder
♠ are trumps.
West leads.
NS to make 4 of the last 5 tricks.
Fails if you swap ♠4 and ♠5.

unfortunately some mistakes were made in the actual play of the hand and I ended up having ♠A ♥A ♣5 opposite the three tens with LHO having ♠KJ ♣K

Help

A bit different but
Unpublished, as far as I know:
♠ are trumps.
North leads.
NS to make 5 of the last 6 tricks.
