Takeout (but in some systems, 1C-p-1NT promises 4 clubs, in which case 1C-p-1N-2H; x is playable as penalty as well).
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

t/o. You need a bid for strong hands below GF strength. Say 16hcp with clubs, like:
KQx x KQx AJ9xxx or:
Ax xx AQxx AQTxx

So what do you bid with above mentioned hands ?

3H or 3C or something. I'm not saying it works on all hands, just that it's playable (though I don't like it that much).

This depends how old (or good) your partner is. If your partner is 80ish and has never learned anything since taking up the game as a teeanager then it is penalty; otherwise it is takeout.

Bridge hands are written on BBF and (almost?) every bridge media in S-H-D-C order (most expensive suit first). If I write Axx x AJx AJxxxx, it means I have 6 clubs and 1 heart.

... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

If BBO play which is standard bid?

I forgot to say before: Welcome to the forums! Do not worry too much about your English - there are plenty of non-native speakers here. As long as you do not use "ergo" it will be fine :D . The standard meaning for this double should be takeout. What I was trying to say with my message is really that there are some, usually older, players who will say that any double after a NT bid is penalty but the vast majority have moved away from that. Playing with a random pick-up partner on BBO, you are always taking a bit of a chance making any call that is not 100% obvious though; sometimes even when it is 100% obvious too!
