I was just playing a free bingo race so I was playing this really fast, not trying to do it all that well, and GIB just discarded all its high diamonds so I could take with mine, even though not all of mine were very high. Were they both trying to unblock each other or something?

Looks like East was trying not to get endplayed and West was giving count

I think west was trying to not get endplayed either (with the Q of hearts), but I have no actual idea. Especially as neither one was actually endplayed on the lie of the cards.

East can certainly be endplayed. If he wins the 3rd ♦, he gives up a trick in either round suit.
Maybe West thought that East's ♦Q was a singleton, so declarer's suit was running and it didn't matter what card he played on the second round.

But I thought GIB played open longest suit, and I'd need 7 diamonds for the Q to be singleton, which would mean it should have thought I couldn't have that many or else I would have opened diamonds. Or does it not think like that?
