You play behind screens and bidding of next board started at the other side of the screen.
The board with two calls is moved to your side.
But you are still discussing the result of the previous board with the enemy at your side of the screen and that takes longer then it should.
Is it now best to announce to the players at the other side of the screen that your side is not thinking about the bidding (So that they don't have to think that there were bidding hesitations) OR is it better to say nothing.

I think it is against the laws and regulations to communicate with the other side of the screen.

Best probably to say nothing and get on with the game ASAP!

The screen shouldn't go down until everyone is ready to start the auction; and failing that, definitely not before everyone is finished with the previous hand.
Bridge is a game and I will remember that its place in my life is that of a game. I will respect those who play and endeavor to be worthy of their respect. I will remember that it is the most human of activities which makes bridge so interesting. And in doing so I will contribute my best and strive to conduct myself fairly. -Bridge Player’s Creed

Not correct. The screen regulations I have read direct that the screen is put down before the players take their cards out of the board. I have only come across one player who insists on following this practice (it takes a little longer as the players have to wait for the tray to be on their own side of the screen before they can take out their cards) but that is what the regulations require.

I don't see how that contradicts what axman said. You finish discussing the previous board, then you're ready to start the new auction, put down the screen, and take cards out of the board.

The players are not ready to start the auction until they have inspected their cards and assessed their hands.
