I think Pass is fine. I wonder why partner didn't bid 5 before? Maybe his hand is too strong? Maybe our K is all he needs for 6? Hopefully someone with a better idea of what's going on can enlighten us, but I'd Pass here.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Pass

Direct 5 is more of a shape oriented imo and not willing to play anyhing else as trump suit. It should suggest a self sufficient suit at most 1 loser vs a stiff or void rather than just a good suit and a lot of hcp. Perhaps he has 6+4 and was willing to play more than game had he seen bid or a stronger bid from us. he is in tuff seat now and bidding whatever he thinks is our most likely contract. I have no reason to override 5 with xx in enemy suit, xx in his trump and only K.

And he didnt bid 3NT either.

Something like

Qx A AQxx AKJxxx

x Ax AQJx AKJxxx

"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

3NT here.

Also, pulling 4 to 5 after doubling is terrible. PD after his double, should be happy that you bid rather than
