I often find it difficult to put up a team match with lots of friends and/or other players who love playing teams competitions. We at home meet regularly 12 friends and play a 3 way team match as described later on . Step one each player or pair registers in any of the 3 possible teams ( Blue, white & red).Within 3 to 5 minutes all players are seated at their table. Agreement is reached within the team about sitting direction ( NS pairs always sit at their table). STEP 2 : A simple Mitchell movements starts with the EW pairs moving up one table . Sets of boards are then placed on each table (8,12 or 16 bds in each set). The match starts and the time limit is stated according to the number of boards to be played.
Step 3 : again a simple Mitchell movements with EW pairs moving up 1 table whilst the boards move down one table.
At the end of the match players go back to their original table and results are calculated and displayed.
Barometer is not needed.undos may or not be allowed;the same goes in respect of kib.Private talk with kib forbidden.
Truly Yours.

This is the same kind of 3-way match that we use in Swiss Teams when there are an odd number of teams, or in KO's when there isn't a power of 2 teams.

And a club that I played in in the early 90's used to have about a dozen players stick around after the regular pair game, and we'd play a quick round-robin like this.

Seems like a reasonable idea to me.
