O.k., there are people who play their normal two-suited bid system after a 1NT overcall. I just didn't see that in the OP conditions. Or was it just so obvious it doesn't even have to be alerted or explained?

To me, QXXXXX of hearts and out would not be an opening wk two, and what I expected pard to have.

If this call is systemically (as I play it) showing a fit, he has a heart-club two-suiter, which explains how he gets the right to bid a cruddy suit at this level in this auction.

Without that agreement, then no one has made the obvious alternative analysis -- partner has four spades. So, we also have a spade fit? That makes it interesting. It certianly makes 3NT bizarre. Who plays 3NT with a 9-card heart fit AND a 4-4 spade fit?

Or, is 3NT meant as some sexy new "choice of major games" try?



If xx KJxxxx xxx xx is a 2H opener in first chair, then we just can't agree on this.

There's nothing in the original post about these kinds of bids showing multiple meanings. xx KQxxx xx 10xxx is fine for 3NT.

The ONLY argument against 3NT is w/w at matchpoints, partner's hand could really suck if he's feeling frisky.

This depends a lot on who partner is obviously, it was my first time with this partner and you can't believe he actually held ♠x ♥QJxxxxx ♦x ♣K9xx

True point, about weak two's. If partner is a purist, he might have anything.

agreed on both counts. Even if partner passes and bids 3H now, 4H is a clear bid.
