GIB plays t/o doubles as guaranteeing support for all unbid suits - there is no option of a more or less random monster hand like there is when humans make take-out doubles.
So the 5♦ bid establishes a fit. South has promised 3+ and North 5+. In that context it is not unreasonable that 5♥ is explained as a cue bid.
But apparently North took it as natural.

The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

I don't think this is quite true, after all simple overcalls are often limited to something like 12-18 total points. However, the descriptions never seem to reflect when GIB will accept that your hand might be something else...

That situation will have other meaning and respectively explanation according the new release coming soon.
South calls will show:
4♠ - strong hand with rebiddable spades
5♥ - ( if 5♦ is bidded ) - biddable hearts and rebiddable spades.
So, hopefully it will be taken as more appropriate hand by North-GIB or South-Human if auction is kind of reversed toward North, i.e West opens 3♣, North doubles, etc.
