I have seen GIB describe some bids as something like "The LAW: 8 trumps --> 2 level" (after a support double for instance).

Unfortunately, it seems like the programmers never got around to telling GIB what the LAW says you should do with 11 trumps...

The only laws they obey are:

  • A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
  • A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
  • A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

It's hard to fault GIB too badly for giving you a chance to miss the game it knows you can make, before it sacrifices against it.

I think he's surprised by North's pass after the double. And, who can make what game?

just move that Q♥ from partners hand to one of the opps and its game I believe.
It is a deciscion to make advanced sac or what, I could be happy letting them play 3♣
but would probably have bid 4♠ to start with.

LAW:
seems there are certain things where the law breaks down
1.5-3-3-2 hands when responding to your partner who made original bid you have 5 card suport
2.one I am not certain about is 11 card fits

I can even remember playing against Barry Crane and I was always suprised that with 11 card fits how he didnt take the bait and bid at the five level.
