Playing teams (IMPs) all red in first chair you hold:

Partner makes an Ogust ask are you a good hand or bad hand in context?

I can't really imagine opening a vulnerable 2 on a suit worse than this and personally wouldn't even have done it on the given hand if it wasn't for the 4-card suit. This is a bad hand unless you play very aggressive vulnerable preempts.

Red at imps, my view is that this is a bad hand, bad suit, but only because my ogust structure makes me elect that way. Personally, I prefer either of two other ogust schemes:

1. 3 bad/bad or 5 card opening: 3D asks
3: not terrible, but not horrible either, in terms of 'weak two', without worrying about suit/hand distinctions....I'd vote for 3 with this hand, because of the shape and the decent side suit
3H good weak two based on suit
3S good weak two based on hand

2N is gf opposite a good hand.

2. 3C bad/bad or 5 card suit
3D I like my hand based on shape
3H I like my hand based on my suit
3S I love my hand...good suit, good hand.

One can of course drop the 5 card possibility if one never opens with only 5.

It seems obvious that this is a bad hand so let me guess: partner has 4 card heart support and Ax in diamonds. Now this hand is good.

Yeh, I voted bad/bad, too. But having preempted too many people with this hand already, I have already shown questionable judgement. Maybe that is a guide: if you cannot decide where it falls on the Ogust scale, it isn't a weak two.

Just open 3, then you will not have any bidding problems later. (Of course, other problems might arise. :) )

Wish partner had made a "September" ask.
I like that much better.
This hand is good if partner is angling to 4H.
Weak if he is angling 3NT.

And mediocre if he is angling for slam.

It depends on what range is agreed, and what style regarding seat and vulnerability. In an "anything goes " style, this is a good hand/ bad suit, but it is so borderline that I really don't know what is best response. In a traditional style (5-10HCP, good 6-card suit) this is clearly bad hand/bad suit.
PS. For these reasons, I did not vote.

Partner's hand was QTxx AQ AQJx QTx so there are 10 red tricks in hearts (and maybe QT is enough black stoppers in 3nt?), but over 3, 3 is the final contract.

Seems easy enough to get to 4H if we don't preempt pard's 1NT opening. When we invite game in hearts, pard can easily see why we didn't open 2H, and will accept.

Really, and how did I manage to do that in my earlier post before the companion hand was given, when I stated my opinion that opening 2H was wrong?

Actually it was a different kind of resulting...based on experience getting bad results when the only player I create problems for is supposed to be on my side.

7 losers = good hand
8 losers = bad hand

Edit: and
2 of top 3 honors = good suit
1 of top 3 honors = bad suit

Soo, for the hand in question , it is

3H! = good hand, bad suit
