IMPS, both side vulnerable.... opposite fairly aggressive partner who has opened with 10 hcp a fair number of times, and very often with 11.
You hold
♠A 2
♥K J T 6 3 2
♦7 6 2
♣J 6
Bidding goes...
(Pass) - Pass - (2♠ weak) to you
What is your call. If it is anything other than pass, please explain your logic if not included in the answer you voted for.
Well, this hand isn't so theoretical, it happened recently in a very large tournament. I am looking for explainations for some of the calls this hand took. If you like, feel free to rate the following calls all of which were made by at least one person.
Pass
Dbl
3♦ - (I am thinking a misclick)
3♥
4♥

Pass = 10
3♥ = 3
4♥ = 1
Double = -250
Reason to pass: I don't have a bid
Reason to bid: I didn't come here to pass

4♥ = 1

This is opposite a passed partner, right? I pass and it is not close.

I don't understand the point of this thread.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

It's probably that partner had something like xxxx, Qxxx, void, AK109x and 6 was making when Q♣ dropped offside and the guy with the A♥ had only one spade
Bear in mind the weak 2 opener's partner also passed, so whether you should think about it depends on what you know of the opponents. Do they pass 12 counts ? Do they open 3rd in weak 2s on 12 ?
Partner is marked with at least 9 points and often 10-11 if opps are playing standard methods.
If you're making something, unless partner has hearts AND spades, opps are probably making at least as many in a higher ranking suit. I think I'd pass, but I'd use the stop card time to think about it.

2♠ weak in 3rd seat need not be weak. In fact, it can go as high as 13-14 with a suitable hand.
Still, no reason to bid 3♥ because pard is gonna raise you to 4 on his likely max passed hand and you definitely rate to go down.
