matchpoint pairs

Obviously, you cannot lead partner's suit.I faced this lead problem recently. I would be interested in knowing why you chose the lead you did, as I don't know if I thought wrong or was just unlucky in my choice of lead. I will post the entire hand at a later date.

So 2 shows an invitational hand with clubs? It's a weird auction, playing 4 suit transfers opener would use 2NT/3 to distinguish between hand that accept an invite and hands that do not. The 3NT bid does not exist since responder could have less than invitational values.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

No, 2 is not necessarily even invitational. They were playing 3 way transfers and this was their way of playing in 3 of a minor with a weak hand and a long minor. In theory, North could have my hand and bid this way. I would tend to agree with your comment about the 3NT bid, but they did get to a sound game. All the NS pairs were in 3NT.

There does not seem to have been much interest, but I did promise to post all the hands.

jh, a heart is a loooong shot because you'd need a lot of luck to find 4 good ones in pard, and even then the suit may not be long enough to set this. A diamond, on the other hand, is likely not to give anything a way and may even set some tricks.
