Since this was an Express tournament, not a Robot tournament, explanations are not provided for West's bids, but it did confirm that 3♣ showed shortness.

I was East at the beginning of this hand, but I was replaced by a robot following West's 3NT bid, so a GIB made East's last three bids. Why is he jumping to 6♠ with hearts wide open?

Not sure. Why did he bid 3nt over 3♣, surely 3♦ is much better. If you assume 4♠ over 3nt denied a cue bid, then 5♣ should infere at least second round controls in the red suits? Maybe XX shows second round controls? Who knows.
