This hand had the potential to be nominated for hand of the week. At it offers an instructive group of potential squeezes, all missed by the declarers (ppilot was going to get it right, but the defense threw a heart from four at trick three, hand over, so he had no need).

This was from a 22 table matchpoint tourney. And if the declarer (with help of defenders by not misdefending) in 6NT or any of the declarer's in 7NT had gotten it right, I would have nominated it.

The order doesn´t matter, but you can always give you the extra chance that west has 5♦+4♥, play 2♦ for a test, if nothing revealing comes trry the dobuel squeze: 3♥+♣K+♦Q+♠A.

If East discards double squeeze won´t work, go for the red suit squeeze: ♣A+♣K+♠A

Yes playing for double squeeze is very sensible. And I understand your concern about WEST 4+♥ and 4+♦... because if you play for the double squeeze, you may muck up the very easy simple squeeze.. and indeed, WEST did have four=four in the reds.. But there is a recovery mechanism to deal with some of these 4-4 in reds hand that you played for a double squeeze if west had QT(x), QJ(x), or JT(x) in clubs you could recover from your misguess via a guard squeeze. On the spade ACE, WEST had to throw the club T (diamond or heart instantly fatal... ), Now you play three round of hearts, and a club back to dummy, to cash the last diamond. When the club queen drop, and west is known to have a heart and a spade left, you have a marked club hook.
