I wouldn't worry too much about this hand. You got to a 4-4 fit down 2 nonvul tricks when the opps are cold for a vul 5♦.

I would say that you did pretty well.

Prefer to pass 2♣... bidding spades now is a disaster magnet, even if theoretically correct.
