Is AJx really only good enough for "partial stopper at best". And is 8xx enough to cover a hand which promises what it did?

They got it right?
GIB uses simulation, the alters in later auctions are not worth
a lot, I would say - they are correct right in theory, but ...
you see the result of the simulation.

432 is considered a partial stopper quite often.

Why not just 2NT, much better played by West although still has nearly no chance.
