I think it expected East to have a good hand, and that you were sacrificing. The double just showed "cards".

East's overcall is ridiculous, IMHO.

If he has that hand, you were making 4♥, but not 5♥, so doubling 4♠ is normal. It's unlucky that it makes.

As they say, if they don't sometimes make doubled contracts, you're not doubling enough.
